How to Get There – Cálem Cellar Tour

Getting to the Cálem Cellars is super easy — and the journey is just as enjoyable as the wine tasting itself! The cellars are right by the river in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across from Porto’s old town.

🚶 Walk from Porto (Best for Views)

If you’re near Ribeira, just cross the lower level of the Dom Luís I Bridge. It’s about a 10-minute walk with amazing views of the Douro River. Once you’re across, turn right and you’ll see Cálem Cellars along the riverside — you can’t miss it!

🚇 Take the Metro (Fast & Easy)

Hop on the Yellow Line (Line D) and get off at Jardim do Morro station. From there, walk downhill for 5 minutes and you’re right at the cellars. Bonus: the view from the station is one of the best in Porto!

🚕 Taxi or Uber (Most Comfortable)

In a rush or don’t feel like walking? Grab a taxi, Uber, or Bolt. Just type in “Cálem Cellars” or Avenida de Diogo Leite 344 in your app. It’s quick and usually costs around €5–€10 from the city center.

🚗 Driving There (If You Have a Car)

Driving from outside the city? Take the A1 highway, exit at Vila Nova de Gaia, and head to the riverfront. There’s paid parking nearby, but it can get busy — so arrive early if you can.

🛳️ Coming by Boat

If you’re on a Douro River cruise, chances are you’ll dock nearby. Cálem is just a short walk away from most boat stops in Gaia.

💡 Pro tip: After your tour, stay a while! The Gaia riverfront is full of great views, local food, and other wine cellars to explore.
