Under construction for over 140 years! The Sagrada Familia is the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world. History and Construction : Sagrada Familia
Construction of the Sagrada Familia began in 1882 and is expected to be completed in 2026, to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Gaudi’s death. Gaudi’s vision was to create a church that was inspired by nature and reflected his deep Catholic faith.
The construction of the Sagrada Familia has been a slow and arduous process, with various interruptions over the years, including the Spanish Civil War and financial difficulties. Despite these setbacks, construction has continued on the basilica, thanks to the dedication and perseverance of the architects, builders, and craftsmen involved in the project.

- Visit the Gaudi Museum: The Gaudi Museum is located near Sagrada Familia and is dedicated to the life and work of Antoni Gaudi, the architect who designed the basilica. The museum features exhibits on Gaudi’s life, his design process, and his other famous works.

Guided Tour : Sagrada Familia
An expert guide will take you around Sagrada Familia and explain its intricate details and past. The tours last for around 50 minutes after which you are free to explore the Basilica on your own.
Available in 6 languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian, and German. Depending on the season, other languages might be available or some may be not.

Special opening hours
On 25 and 26 December, 1 and 6 January, opening hours will be from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

As the Basilica is under construction, some routes and tours may be modified.

Children under 6 are not permitted within the towers, and those aged 6 to 16 require adult supervision.
Visitors must put any bags in the lockers provided before going up in the towers.
Drinks are only permitted if purchased from the vending machine in the outdoor areas of the Basilica
Restrictions
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the Basilica and the Gaudi House Museum
Drinking and eating is not permitted on the premises.
There isn’t a specific dress code, but political prints, offensive language, transparent clothing, or beachwear are not allowed. You may be asked to leave the premises if found inappropriate.
