The word paradox comes from ancient Greek meaning “contradictory to expectations” and this exhibition will challenge your thinking and stimulate curiosity.
Discover the world’s greatest collection of paradox-based exhibits, featuring over 70 perplexing rooms and settings from different fields of knowledge including physics, mathematics, philosophy and so much more. Immerse yourself in experimental, life-size modern art while taking amazing photos of fascinating optical illusions.
The museum encourages visitors to think critically, challenge presumptions, and consider various points of view by presenting paradoxes in an interactive and interesting way. But the Paradox Museum offers more than just puzzling ideas and brainteasers. Additionally, it’s a place to let loose and just have fun.
How Does It Work?
Following a one-way flow system, you simply have to follow the signs as they take you into a different world. The marked photo points let you know the best angles for a perfect shot and the staff can take group photos for you as well. Enjoy the “what to do” and “what’s going on” explanations in the exhibit descriptions or scan the QR code to learn more about the illusion.
This experience can take up to 75-80 minutes.
Visit the Paradox Boutique to purchase a range of games, apparel, mementos, gadgets, and keepsakes before returning to reality.

Timings : Paradox Museum
Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Friday and Saturday: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Last entry: 60 minutes before closing time.
Note: Timings are subject to change during the midsummer week, kindly check during booking.
Insider Tip: Generally busy during weekends and 12 PM, plan your visit early during opening hours on weekdays or in the evening to avoid crowds.

How To Get There
Location: Sergelgatan 20, 111 57 Stockholm.
- By Bus:
Bus #1 stops at Hötorget, from where the museum is a short walk.
- By Subway:
The museum is right next by Hötorget subway station, after exiting the turnstiles you will see the museum on your right.
- By Car:
You can easily follow the maps and reach it as it is conveniently located in Hötorget.
Parking:
The closest parking garage is in Hötorgsgaraget, entry from Sveavägen 17 or Slöjdgatan 6. Complimentary parking near the museum is not available.
